Paul works closely with trade unions, workers’ councils, NGOs, and mission-driven organizations at the intersection of democracy, sustainability, and social justice. His current focus is on combining strategic-reflective approaches to coaching with transformative organizing and democratic leadership as tools to strengthen resilience and counter far-right extremism.

In his work, Paul combines strategic facilitation, conflict transformation, and participatory methods that are both analytical and creative—always with the aim of fostering clarity, collective strength, and sustainable solutions. He pays particular attention to questions of diversity and power, supporting people in reflecting on the dynamics that shape their work and opening space for more equitable and collaborative ways of acting together.

He is a member of the Professional Association of Supervisors and Coaches (DGSv), where he participates in the networks Supervision in NGOs and Diversity and Power-Critical Approaches to Supervision.

He is also an active member of the Leading Change Network and has trained in community organizing with Marshall Ganz, applying these approaches to empower leaders, mobilize members, and cultivate democratic resilience. His professional path has included policy consulting on climate and sustainability at adelphi (Berlin) and The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI, New Delhi) with projects across Europe, Asia, and North Africa.

In Berlin, he co-founded Parkour Berlin e.V., a community organization focused on youth empowerment through sport, where he gained formative experience in grassroots organizing and collective leadership. These experiences have shaped his understanding of transformation as a multi-level process linking structural change with empowerment and agency. He is further engaged in the Economy for the Common Good movement, reflecting his commitment to ecological and social responsibility.

“Another world is not only possible, she is on her way. On a quiet day, I can hear her breathing.”
Arundhati Roy

This vision inspires Paul’s work: to create the quietness and attentiveness needed to hear, sense, and nurture this emerging world within organizations, movements, and communities.

Beyond his professional work, Paul is a dedicated father and part of a multicultural family. He divides his time between Lüneburg near Hamburg, Berlin, and Spain, and finds balance in the outdoors—on a surfboard, a bike, or a climbing rope.
